Dr. Grant Layton has practiced in the San Diego area since 1986. Previous to that he had a practice in Utah. His education at UCSF Dental School gave him the foundation in the most critical areas of dental medicine. During his time at UCSF, Grant showed significant promise in fabricating his own restorations to give a natural excellent fitting solution. Dr. Layton has studied, worked and innovated procedures in his own practice that give results of exceptionally high quality.

Dr. Layton’s dedication to mercury free dentistry has grown in parallel with his knowledge of the toxic effects of mercury. Grant now is a leader in the industry, with recognition from the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. He is also the President of the Environmental Dental Association. His expertise has been influential in the political arena of water fluoridation as well.

Dr. Layton considers LaytonDental the culmination of his experience and talents, and looks forward to advancing his practice concepts throughout the United States. Grant lives in Carlsbad with his wife and family. They are the parents of 5 children and currently have 4 grandchildren

Dr. Christopher Layton is a graduate of the Creighton University Dental School.  He brings to Layton Dental the latest techniques in dentistry and infection control.  He enjoys all phases of general dentistry and especially has experience in veneers and cosmetics.  Dr. Layton believes that a healthy mouth is important  for overall health.  He emphasizes good home care in conjunction with regular visits for cleaning and check ups. He believes that with good care you should be able to keep your teeth for your life time.  In the event of decay or other problems, he is prepared with the latest technologies to ease your discomfort and restore your oral health.  In case you are dissatisfied with some aspect of your smile, he can help you create the most beautiful smile with veneers, bleaching and other cosmetic techniques.

Dr. Christopher Layton has also been trained in the “natural dental” protocols that his father, Grant Layton is famous for.  He uses the same methods of safe mercury removal with patient protection, and use of biocompatible materials.  He looks forward to welcoming you and your family to Layton Dental.
